A fitting description of life lived following Christ -- not finished, taken apart...you pick the metaphor.

Living this week in Old Testament land, 1 and 2 Chronicles. Long, in depth, tough read for me. Hard to stay focused. My friend Ray, via class post for this week’s readings, shared thoughts about the fact that God’s faithfulness kept King David’s line alive even though many of the guys in his family tree that became kings were, shall we say, less than reputable. God had a plan, He had a way, and used even the goof ups and screw offs to accomplish His master plan. When God says He will do something, He will do it. He’ll use who He will use, warts and all, to get the job done. There a lot of days I think, “How on earth can He use me? Why did He choose someone such as me to advance the kingdom? What makes me worthy of such a thing?” Truth is, nothing. I’m not. But God has some plans – for me, for you, for your kids, for His church. Because Jesus is good enough, because He is worthy, we are capable of answering the call when our trust and faith is put in Him. When that is our strength, our foundation, there is nothing too big or scary or difficult to take on.
