$100,000

so last night @ veritas, we spoke about believing in God and how when He calls us to do something, anything is possible (Noah's ark!) when we trust that He is capable of keeping His end of the bargin. Tony (worship man) shared a story about his boss; the wife of said boss wrote out a check for $100,000, signed it, and is keeping it in her bible until God tells her to turn it in to the church. the amount is what is needed to cover the debt of the church they attend. RADICAL!!! needless to say, Tony's boss is a bit uncomfortable with this situation. we had a short discussion (thanks to all who weighed in) about it during the service, and many of us came out in different spots with regard to whether or not this was a good thing -- bold for sure, but not sure if it's a faith move, testing God, or being too bold.

i am inspired by this -- what a faith leap! i don't plan on writing a check of that amount anytime soon, but what if? is my belief in God big enough to answer a call like that if it comes? what kind of crazy good lesson is in there for our kids, a willingness to go against conventional wisdom and trust God with the things that hold such sway over our hearts?

all things are possible for those who believe...Mark 9:23
