The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath...
- Mark 2:27

Interesting to me here is this particular quote. I don't Sabbath well; I'm not sure any of us do. We live in a go-go society that tells us if we are not getting stuff done, we are not successful. I do not take a day off in exercise well, even though it is recommended that you do so. I do not take study days off from school well, although that one is much easier for me! I do not take days off from checking work email, answering work calls, etc. But it is clear that we are to take time away to rest, recharge, and recoup from the grind of the daily life. In fact, the call to observe Sabbath (a day of rest) was designed with man in mind; obviously, the set up is to provide a focused time and space for us to commune w/ God and each other. But how many of us limit our Sabbath time to an hour or 2 on Sunday morning, and then go right back to the race as soon as Sunday lunch is done? Do you observe a Sabbath? What does it look like in your world? How could you do it better? Teach your little (or big!) ones to do the same?

My Sabbath is often in a treestand. But, even then I guess I am "chasing" something. Now I get text messages in the tree as well. Guess it isn't as much of a Sabbath as I think...
