A fitting description of life lived following Christ -- not finished, taken apart...you pick the metaphor.

I've been out of the loop a bit here of late. Funny how all this talk of healing leads one to a day of sleeping and a night of contemplating the need for healing. Funny how one tends to ask God for healing when the going gets tough, and then conveniently forgets the need to be healed of sin when your body stops shaking. Funny, and yet, not so much. I wonder what happened to the paralytic guy? Did he end up a follower of Jesus on new legs and a forgiven heart? Or did he pull a human deal, and be thankful for a few weeks and then forget what Jesus did as he got used to it? What about his friends? Did they experience massive life reorientation, or was it a 'hey, that's cool' moment for them and they walked away none the wiser? And, why is that the case for us? Why do we forget what God has done, only to call upon Him when it gets sticky in our lives?
