the life is in the blood...

wow. what a profound statement from the service last eve...the life is the blood. do we want the life of Jesus in us? then we have to take part in Him...and allow that to change us internally. last night's service was pretty amazing in my opinion; felt so early church-ish to be seated at tables actually looking at each other rather than staring @ the back of someone's head. i gotta think that the church when it started happened in living rooms, around tables, with folks reclined or sitting near one another, able to see faces and gauge expressions and experience what the other was experiencing. i totally dug the feel of all those people in the room, loved how zion rallies to pull chairs up and make room for everyone, and how it truly felt like i believe the last supper was intended to be remembered -- around tables, kids and all, with friends, sharing the part of the meal that Jesus put the most emphasis on. and to have my son take communion for the first time with us as a family...that is something neither he nor i will forget. it was so amazing to be the one to show him how to do it, when to wait and when to eat, and to watch the smile on his face as he got to take part of the sacrament for the first time after waiting and talking about it for so long...i wish i could take the bread and cup with as much joy as brady did last night. he's still talking about it today. thanks to everyone out there who was there and took part in the service by your presence last night...it was a memorable evening and made more so by your being there!

happy 'good' friday...good in an ironic sense, i suppose!

I am still thinking about Good Friday and Holy Week. Our Good Friday service was soooo intimate. How much closer can we be to Jesus and each other except by sharing his blood and body? "The Life is in the Blood" Amen.
