Baptisms are so cool. My friends Tony and Carlie had their son baptised today. I've always really enjoyed watching baptisms; I believe something miraculous goes down. Parents make promises before God and church, church makes commitments to help raise this baby, and God shows up and does what He does. Cannot fully explain it, but there is something very cool about the entire deal. It feels joyous -- we are indentifying ourselves with Jesus, the parents are taking a step towards raising their kids in a God pleasing way, the church is reminded of its responsibilities to each other. Beautiful stuff.
