Let's talk disconnections and connections. New dryer at the house; it is a gas appliance. I do not like to monkey with gas lines, connections, etc. So at the point of purchase, we set up Sears to do the install. Pros show up, haul out old unit, bring in new. 10 minutes of time, hooked up and we can dry clothing again. Fast forward 3 hours; Kari goes home, and natural gas stench meets her at the door. Heavy stench. I call MidAmerican; my guy Lonnie is there in no time. Turns out the pros finger tightened the flex tube to the back of the dryer, and it is leaking an excessive amount of gas into my basement. Right next to the heat source that is the new dryer. My guy hooks it up right, checks connections and other pipes to make sure we are not leaking anywhere else, and disaster averted. So -- my deep thought for today: disconnections, or even poor connections, lead to disaster. My dryer is hooked up wrong; my house could blow up. Spiritually, we are designed to be connected to the Father. When our connections go bad, start leaking, or come undone altogether, we run the risk of disaster. We get self-absorbed, lose track of our grounding, and become disconnected from our source of love, life, and grace. So the lesson for today, which I FULLY intend to adhere to myself, is, check your connections. Make sure they are tight and hooked up right.
