Tonight I'm speaking to our 7/8 kids and the Sr. Highers to gather for Wed. night stuff. It is a year-end sort of message, the ultimate 'so what?' deal. I'm basing my talk on Ephesians 2:4-10 (check it out!), and the jist of what i'll be saying is this -- the cross accomplished for us these things: forgiveness, given by an act of great love, even though we are dead in our sin; salvation, through God's great kindness (grace!), and a stake in eternity with Him; finally, the ability to live the life He prepared in advance of time for us. We are few weeks out from Easter, and I think we sometimes loose sight of the truth of what the cross did for us even though we are so close. The so what becomes this -- what do you do with it? This is truth, this is life changing stuff, and we have got to live in response to this. It is more than Sunday and Wednesday; it is everyday and it demands a response. Pray that these words fall on receptive ears...
