Hope...

it does not disappoint. This was a theme that developed through the weekend. I took some kids to Youth Encounter; our Friday night speaker talked about our need for hope in this world. The band that played talked frequently about hope and where it is found. Romans 5 talks about hope; that was our devotional for Friday night. We saw many that could use some hope. Desparately. My heart broke for a few of them. We found hope in the amazing love and mercy of Jesus, all of us brought to tears at different points by this. Hope was all around us, and is what is needed most in my life and the world, I believe. A hope that God is truly in control of our everyday. And today, hope indeed does not disappoint.

I got home yesterday; Kristyn had spent Saturday at Riverside Bible Camp (purveyors of hope, I might add). Her sweet little heart led her to bring each member of the team a small gift; she brought me a sticker for my water bottle. What is on the logo, in small letters that you'll see only if you are looking real hard? The word hope. I love it.
