Mustard seeds and kingdom stuff
We were learning about Isaiah today; It is amazing to think that the people who were around Jesus despised him (some, anyway). They looked down on Him, they considered Him lowly and worthless and not admirable in the least. It is also amazing that the Bible also says that upon His return, kings will shut their mouths to listen, knees will bow, and the nations will come to worship in adoration of the King of kings. Kind of like the mustard seed idea -- a tiny little seed, something many might consider inconsequential, grows into a plant that the birds are able to perch on and find rest. A garden plant that grows fairly large and spreads about like crazy. I love how God works like that -- taking the smallest things and making them amazing, using seemingly insignificant things and marching the kingdom forth in that way. Really profound stuff when you stop to think about it. Using frail, broken people who screw it up often to share His goodness with those who don't know...like you and me.
