Put it into practice...

Along the same lines as yesterday -- I got to pray today with a family who had a loved one in surgery. I found myself in the midst of the prayer asking for healing, that Jesus would be enough for them in the time of waiting, and for a miracle that would ensure a completely successful procedure. Easy things to ask for, right? Harder to believe in...as people of faith, we stake our claim on the fact that Jesus did miracles, and that the Holy Spirit will continue to do them in our midst today. We pray for healings, we pray for guideance, we pray that God would stoop down and intervene in our circumstances. I pray for these things all the time, frankly. I was walking out of the clinic and pondering what we had just lifted up to Him. And there was a profound sense of peace -- I truly did (and do still now) believe that He heard our prayers, and that He will answer them. He is capable of doing miracles, like the one we asked for. I'm not sure the results will be immediately evident, but I believe that it is entirely possible that these prayers will bear fruit. I'm hopeful they will, even bordering on confident they will (how's that for a hedged bet?!?). Most of all, I believe that God hears and wants to provide answers that will amaze us. Part of seeing those answers is having the faith to believe that our prayers mean something, and that He will respond to them in His time.
