Very naked...
I was getting ready for small group tonight after the deal at the big Z; Emy was changing and getting jammies on for bed. We are having one of those down the hall conversations when she comes around the corner in nothing but socks. Happy as a lark, naked as the day she was born. She toodles about, then runs her nude buns in her room to get dressed. I love that about little kids -- naked at the drop of a hat, not ashamed at all, smiling the whole way. What a joy these little lives are.
Now -- I'm not necessarily advocating public nudity. Rather, consider the lack of shame before a parent. Em didn't care; she knew that I love her and continue to do so no matter her state of dress. Think about coming before God like that. Letting go of the masks we try to wear, the cloaks we hold tightly around us to hide our imperfections and sins, and standing unashamed before our Maker, knowing He loves us in spite of the things we've done. That is an amazing thought to me...hopefully one that gives you both pause and encouragement to stand in His presence, enveloped by His love and mercy.
