Investing.

I do not understand how the stock market and investment portfolio stuff works; I’ve got a guy that takes care of that, and I just hope that someday it will accrue some money so I can find somewhere woodsy and quiet to build my retirement cabin, spend some time snowed in, and run through woods with my grandkids. In order for that to happen, right now demands that I give a bit from my paycheck, deposit it with the investment guy, and believe that it will take root and grow into something substantial.

That is what this parenting and ministry thing is really about – investment. The thing (one at least!) I have learned in 10+ years of working with kids in the Jesus realm is that this is a process; we are in the "business" of making deposits, spiritually speaking, into their banks and then trusting that it will take root, be managed well, and eventually bloom into something grand. What a high, honorable thing it is to be investing in these hearts with the greatness of Jesus! May you find comfort in that, joy in that, and energy in that truth!
