Faith Healer
Saw this thing on Nightline last night about a guy who is doing faith healings in Lakeville, Florida. This gentleman started preaching down there a while ago -- big tent, revival style stuff -- and people reported being healed. Soon more and more folks started showing up and lo and behold...now you have a media sensation. Nightline was more than skeptical (I tend to be as well on these deals), but it was a really interesting thing to see. He was very quick to point out that the people coming forward were coming in faith; he was simply praying over them. The healing was coming from the power of God (the preacher said this multiple times!) and the power of faith both on the healed person's part and the ones doing the praying. He also pointed out that sometimes healing is partial, sometimes it does not happen, but that power for anything to go down resides in God and (in part) in the faith we have in Him to do something miraculous. Hmmm....
Is my faith in God big enough to see miracles happen -- in my life, in the lives of my loved ones? In my church? In our world? Seems that the Bible is clear that miraculous things do occur, and that it takes eyes of faith to see them and faith to bring those to fruition (the mountain and the sea story Jesus tells). Will I believe? Will you?

I have a hard time believing the faith healing on TV. I don't deny that prayer helps in healing, I truly believe in it. I do wonder if it's the masses praying with him and he's just getting the "fame" from it. It is definitely something to think about.
