Want to feel small?
Right now it is Sunday night, I am sitting on the porch at the Belvedere B&B in Yahhh-maaath, MA. We are here celebrating our 10 year anniversary a bit early...This is the furthest we have been from home and away from our kiddos. It is both hard and amazing...our flight was pretty uneventful, the trip from Boston to the Cape was great...not bad for a few Iowa kids!
This morning we ran to a place called Smuggler's Beach before church. We have never stood on the ocean before. Humbling does not quite fit how it felt. Standing on the cusp of water as far as you can see, knowing that our planet is surrounded by this same water -- the effect of this is hard to describe. And knowing that these waters are the whim and command of our God...amazing.
We went to church at the E Free church of East Dennis, where my friend Nate is associate pastor and Ray, both Bethel guys, is the worship pastor. We sang a song called "God of Wonders" (check it on Itunes if you are not familiar). Needless to say, standing at the lip of the ocean early on, singing to the maker of heaven earth...I cannot begin to describe it.
I am in awe tonight of the bigness of God, the strength and power of His nature, and the tenderness required to love one like me...
