systematic theology 3, day 1.


well, i've decided that the theology teachers are all really really smart -- they seem to exist on another level of thought that isn't attainable for the regular guy like me. ah well...i did have some fun in class today. check out the picture below...we did an exercise regarding theology today; the idea is that the more we know about God, the more we know about ourselves. john calvin said that, not me, by the way. this painting is a german renaissance era work; called 'christ among the doctors'. our professor had us look at this, write down what we observed, and what we saw of God and ourselves in the painting. i've attached it; click it to make it bigger if you like...and if you are up for it, post what you interpret the work to mean and what jumps out at you!
might not be a 'kid friendly' painting, but think of the things we can do with this and our families...pick and object; what can we learn about God thru this object? what does it tell us about us? the fun never ends...
