something fun...

hey, so it's 'fat tuesday, shrove tuesday...' pick your favorite. it's the day before lent begins and the last day of mardi gras. the rest of the world (new orleans and brazil, i think) freak out until tomorrow, which is supposed to then begin the season of repentance and dwelling upon the sins we commit...sounds like a crazy fun time in the church, eh?!? i actually really like lent, which i'll expound upon more down the road. but for today, i want to direct you somewhere else...

he is this guy who writes great pop songs from a lutheran perspective...thinking of trying to bring him to town to do a zfam/youth concert fun night thing in the spring. he wrote a 52 song, double album that has a song for each season of the church calender year (again, sound like a ton of fun) that is a super good listen. with his permission, i'll be making available cds with his 6 or 7 lenten songs for you to purchase...at the super low cost of $3-ish. so...go visit jonathan, then look for the cds in the narthex tomorrow night!
