common grace.
i learned about this last week...the idea is that normal, 'worldly' things can give us a glimpse of God. the professor used a big picture of b.b. king (blues guitar guy) and how when you hear him play, there is a sense of something 'transcendent', or bigger than us. cool idea...
tonight i took a bit of time off from the studies (after 8 hours in lecture today) to go see my fave band of ALL time, storyhill. album release was yesterday, 'hometown' show tonight, in the dinkytown area of minneapolis, right next to the university of minnesota. long story short, i got to see 7 songs, and was blown away again. i've always felt a sense of God's goodness in their music -- they don't sing about God necessarily, but seeing them play and sing i am drawn to ponder worship in action...they sing and play and use the gifts they've got to their fullest potential, which seems to be glorifying to God in the most basic way.
so if you get a chance, hit the link here and check these guys out. amazing guys, musicians, and transparent enough to allow the Divine to be seen thru them...
