In the Spirit of the Season...

Click on the link and read -- the story is a bit long, but pretty profound. I've been mulling over the passage in Luke for today; it's one that has been a big one in my heart and my view of ministry for a long time. Don't know how the two tie together, but I'm sure that somehow they do...

I guess if I had to wager a guess, the point for today is this -- part of our deal as followers of Jesus is to extend the Gift to others, regardless of our thoughts on whether or not they deserve it...in fact, we've got a responsibility to show the love and grace of Jesus to everyone. Because of what we have been given in Him, we are mandated to do the same for others. I hope and pray that my gift this coming year is to be able to grow in this area even more...

How does that look for you? Read the Luke passage with your kids (especially the last verse); what do they think that means? How can we share the joy of Christmas by doing what we are instructed here? Any experiences sharing this Gift with someone regardless of thier perceived 'merit'?

read: Luke 12:35-48
