A Charlie Brown Christmas

I met a kid at Starbucks today...they have wrapped themselves in the season. The whole red cup, tinsel all over, pine tree sillouette cut outs, Christmas blend coffee...and the Charlie Brown Christmas disc was playing. I had some time to read before my friend showed up, and was struck as I read from the Bible that I was hearing Christmas carols, sung by the loveable Charlie Brown gang, proclaiming the love and birth of the Savior. Remember the post yesterday, trying to allow the 'seasonal' stuff to point me to Jesus? Didn't happen yesterday, but I tell ya...He showed up this morning at the coffee shop!!! Coincidentally, got a card from my mom yesterday for our kids that has the same gang singing "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing"...So I think that Jesus has been knocking on the door and I've failed to open it until this morning. I love when I do that...

Nothing super deep or theological today, friends. I really hope that today, God is revealled to you, incarnated in a profound way. Like through the voices of cartoon children singing about the birth of the newborn King...
